Across the river of blood

These figures are situated in a liminal zone between human and animal, myth and corporeality. Their bodies bearing traces of cosmological crossings and ancestral memory. Post-totemic digital portraits.
Two beings emerge—neither fully human nor fully animal, but marked by the memory of both. Their skin is carved with the traces of another world. Each line remembers a threshold crossed, between species, between myth and matter, between kin and exile.
Inspired by the Sámi myth of Meandash—the wild reindeer who walked between the human and the sacred—these figures inhabit a post-totemic space. They are descendants of ancient unions, where bloodline met landscape, and where identity was not fixed but woven through ritual, bone, and breath.
In this reimagined cosmology, the old forms no longer hold. What remains are bodies as archives: scored, weathered, and alive with ancestral resonance. They do not speak the language of folklore. They carry it in their flesh.
